Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many sessions will I need?
This really depends on each individual’s circumstances. Typically, within six sessions you should feel a significant positive shift however, the timeline is directed by you.
2. Is therapy confidential?
Be assured that I will never share your personal details with anyone. The exception being if I felt you were in danger of harming yourself or others but I would consult with you in the first instance.
3. Do you offer support between sessions?
Absolutely yes! If you have a ‘wobble’ a question or concern simply message me and I will respond as soon as I’m able to.
4. Do I have to tell you everything about my past?
No! You only share with me what you feel comfortable sharing. I will never pressure you. Much of the work I do can be done content free.
5. Do I need a mental health diagnosis in order to engage in therapy?
No! You don’t! I choose to work with the person in front of me not the label, diagnosis or disorder you may have been given. No diagnosis, self-diagnosis or doctor attributed diagnosis, all are most welcome in my practice.
6. What happens in a therapy session?
We will talk about your concerns and the thoughts that are troubling you. Once I have a clear understanding of your situation I will offer you a step by step framework with insights, strategies and resources to help you feel empowered to make sustainable changes in your life.
